Open practices

Hi everyone!

We’re excited about your interest in STUGG! We will inform you a little more about our open trainings in this message so make sure to read it. Our open trainings are from the 2nd till the 12th of September!
Some may already have gymnastics experience and others don’t. That’s no problem. At STUGG we train at every gymnastics level from beginner to advanced. Our training schedule is as follows:

Monday:
8:00 PM – 9:30 PM: Beginners
9:30 PM – 11:00 PM: Advanced + Men

Tuesday:
9:00 PM – 10:30 PM: Vaulting Hour
9:00 PM - 10:30 PM: Free practice (no trainer guidance)

Thursday:
8:00 PM – 9:30 PM: Advanced + Men
9:30 PM – 11:00 PM: Beginners

Am I a beginner or advanced?
We distinguish between beginners and advanced for our training sessions. For men, they (almost always) train with the advanced group. The beginners group includes STUGG members with no experience in gymnastics, up to those who can perform flips, somersaults, and handstands on the balance beam. The advanced group has a higher skill level, allowing for more independent training, assuming you can take more control over your own training. If you're unsure, feel free to seek advice from our trainers or members of the introduction committee during the open training sessions.

Location
The training sessions take place in the Europapark gymnastics hall. The address is: Helperpark 306, 9723 ZA Groningen. Since this location might not be well-known, there's an option to cycle together to the gymnastics hall. 20 Minutes before each training session starts, a STUGG member will be at the entrance of the OV bicycle parking area (Stationsweg 13). From there, we'll cycle together to the gymnastics hall. If you'd like to join the cycling group, please ensure you're at the meeting point on time.

What do I wear?
You're welcome to train in an outfit that makes you feel comfortable. Although a fancy dress or suit might not be the best gymnastics outfit 😉 You can wear a leotard if you want but it’s not mandatory. For beginners, it's important to wear well-fitting clothing. Loose clothing tends not to be ideal for training, based on experience.

We hope you are as excited about the open trainings as we are! If you have any questions you can always contact us or talk to us during training.

Kind regards
Rosan, Lisa, Willemijn, Kim and Marieke
